The 2025 edition of Vallarta Pride, held from May 17th to 25th, saw an impressive turnout, with over 20,000 attendees participating in its vibrant parade. This colorful procession is recognized as a key driver for tourism promotion and social responsibility in the region, showcasing Puerto Vallarta’s welcoming spirit.
Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, emphasized that the event not only boosts hotel occupancy and economic revenue but also sends a powerful message of visibility and respect for the LGBTQ+ community. This, she noted, firmly establishes Puerto Vallarta as an inclusive and accepting destination. Visitors from both Mexico and abroad, particularly from Canada and the United States, joined the parade as it wound through more than two kilometers of the city’s heart.
The Vallarta Pride 2025 program featured over 20 cultural, sports, and health-related activities. These included prevention campaigns, informational sessions, and artistic performances, all designed to promote respect, dignity, and diversity. Puerto Vallarta generates approximately 40% of its tourism income from the LGBTQ+ segment, supported by a specialized offering in the “gayborhood” area, which encompasses Playa Los Muertos and over 60 businesses, such as hotels, bars, restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and cultural spaces.
