Vallarta Pride, the most prominent LGBTQ+ event in the region, is almost here! This year’s event, themed “The Future Has No Gender,” will take place from May 17th to 25th and is expected to attract approximately 40,000 visitors from around the world to Puerto Vallarta.
Highlights of the schedule include the March Against Homophobia and for Trans and Non-Binary Visibility kicking off the festivities on Saturday, May 17th, followed by a photographic exhibition. Throughout the week, attendees can enjoy the International Film Festival showcasing LGBTQ+ films, a family-friendly Pet Parade on the Malecón, the international MetaBall for voguing enthusiasts, and the annual Pink Dinner fundraising event held at sea.
The centerpiece of Vallarta Pride, the Pride Parade, will take place on Thursday, May 22nd, traversing the city’s main streets and culminating in a vibrant Block Party in the Romantic Zone. Other notable events include the entertaining Drag Derby Rally on Púlpito Street and the Rainbow Run, promoting inclusion through sports, followed by an art auction on Sunday, May 25th.
Additionally, a beach volleyball tournament and various health, education, and activism-focused activities will be held throughout the week. Organizers emphasized the significant political strides made by this edition of Vallarta Pride, achieving representation in various governmental bodies and embassies.
