Puerto Vallarta’s new vehicular interchange is on track to open to traffic in the final week of September, according to David Zamora Bueno, Jalisco’s Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works. This major announcement was made during a supervision tour of the site, which was led by Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro.
Zamora Bueno confirmed that the project, located at the Las Juntas traffic circle, is now 90% complete. The main bridge structure is fully built, as are the access ramps heading north. Workers are currently focused on finishing touches, including the installation of protective barriers, lighting, and landscaping.
While the main structure will open soon, some additional work will continue. The project’s next phase includes a storm drain collector, a collaborative effort with the municipality, and the construction of a pedestrian bridge. These complementary works are designed to ensure safe passage for pedestrians and further ease traffic congestion in the area.
