Jalisco Air Traffic Soars

Jalisco’s skies are getting busier! The state saw a 7.51% jump in air traffic this January compared to last year. Both Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta airports contributed to this impressive growth, with over 2.3 million passengers passing through.

Guadalajara International Airport led the charge with a 10.17% increase in passenger traffic. Puerto Vallarta International Airport also saw positive growth, albeit a more modest 1.94% rise. This surge in air travel can be attributed to the addition of 13 new air routes. Airlines like Viva, Aeroméxico, and Alaska Airlines are now offering more options for travelers flying to and from Jalisco.

To accommodate this growing demand, Jalisco is investing in its airport infrastructure. Plans include a second terminal for Guadalajara and an expansion of the existing terminal in Puerto Vallarta.
