Puerto Vallarta is preparing for a bustling April, with 23 international cruise ships scheduled to dock, matching the city’s impressive record from the same month last year. The National Port System Administration (Asipona) projects that these arrivals will significantly stimulate the local economy, providing a substantial boost to tourism-related businesses throughout the region.
The April schedule features several days with multiple ship arrivals, including two double-cruise days and two triple-cruise days. Notable arrivals include the Carnival Panorama and Norwegian Joy docking together on April 10th, and the Nieuw Amsterdam and Caribbean Princess arriving on April 27th. The triple arrivals will occur on April 22nd with the Navigator of the Seas, Carnival Panorama, and Zaandam, followed by the Discovery Princess, Coral Princess, and Eurodam on April 23rd.
The week of the triple arrivals will be particularly busy, with the Serenade of the Seas also scheduled to dock, bringing an estimated 20,000 cruise passengers to the city. This influx is expected to generate approximately $2.5 million in economic impact. The month’s cruise arrivals will commence on April 1st with the Carnival Panorama. Asipona Vallarta has also announced the return of the Mitsui Ocean Fuji, previously known as the Seabourn, now operated by Japanese company MOL Cruises.
