Puerto Vallarta Boosts Transit with Eco-Friendly Fleet

Public transportation in Puerto Vallarta has entered a modern new era following the delivery of 31 state-of-the-art buses. This new fleet is a champion of environmental sustainability, featuring 10 fully electric units, 15 natural gas vehicles, and six diesel buses.

Beyond their eco-friendly credentials, these air-conditioned buses prioritize passenger well-being with integrated video surveillance and streamlined fare collection systems. Notably, the electric models include universal accessibility features, ensuring inclusive travel for all members of the community.

The city’s transportation transformation is set to accelerate even further in the coming months. Governor Lemus announced that an additional 65 buses are scheduled to arrive in March 2026. This expansion is part of an ambitious electromobility project specifically designed for the Medina Ascencio Avenue corridor, ensuring the city’s infrastructure evolves alongside its growing popularity.
