New Mural Brightens Up Puerto Vallarta’s Río Cuale Market

The historic Río Cuale Market has received a vibrant new addition with the unveiling of the mural titled “Tejiendo Tradiciones” (Weaving Traditions), created by the talented artist Denice Ban. The official presentation of the mural, along with another piece by Ernesto Garrigos Rojas, took place on Friday.

The new murals, which adorn the entrance of the hanging bridge, add a splash of color and beauty to the market. Ana Teresa Topete Álvarez, head of Municipal Markets, emphasized the positive impact of these works of art, which contribute to the market’s lively atmosphere. She expressed her gratitude to the vendors for their dedication and support.

During the event, an ambitious art project called “La Iguana de Vallarta” was also introduced. This project aims to create the largest painting in Puerto Vallarta, if not the entire country, and will be led by artist Ernesto Garrigos Rojas.

The ceremony was attended by several officials, including Lucio Meza García, the administrative chief of staff, and Daniel Alarcón Pulido, representing the incoming city council. Market vendors Leticia Alarcón and Alfredo Figueroa were also recognized for their contributions.
