The final stretch of the Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta highway is now complete, according to local sources. While there has been no official announcement regarding an opening date, there is speculation that the new road could be opened to the public as early as this winter.
The newly completed section, spanning over 30 kilometers, connects La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, to the vicinity of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport. This final piece will link up with the existing Jala-Compostela-Bahía de Banderas highway.
Just over a week ago, Marco Antonio Figueroa, director of the SICT Nayarit Center, confirmed that construction work on the highway was in its final stages. This vital transportation corridor is expected to significantly improve connectivity between the Bajío region and the Riviera Nayarit, reducing travel times and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
