2024 Was A Strong Year for Cruise Tourism in PV

Puerto Vallarta welcomed a significant number of cruise ship passengers in 2024, generating an impressive economic impact of 909.9 million pesos.

Over 548,000 cruise visitors arrived in the destination, representing a substantial increase compared to 2023. This growth was evident throughout the year, with 285,635 cruise passengers arriving in the first half of 2024 alone. The peak season further boosted these numbers, with October, November, and December experiencing a surge in cruise arrivals.

Looking ahead, the potential delay of the foreign cruise ship passenger tax to 2026 could further stimulate cruise travel to Puerto Vallarta in 2025. This delay may play a crucial role in maintaining the destination’s momentum and supporting the continued growth of the local tourism industry.
