I am a avid fisherman, but this is the 1st trip to PV. Does anyone know if i can join with others to split a charter or do you have to charter privately. Also I am very interested in fishing for roosterfish, snapper, or tuna. I hate to spend 8 hours out trolling for a big marlin bite. Can anyone help me out?

Re:fishing
Most of the fishing boats that do fishing parties go out into the open ocean for the big game fish. Right now yellow fin tuna are running along with bonito, dorado, not many rooster fish right now. I own a panga which we went out for fishing trips but it is usually private for just your party. Sometimes when you get down to PV you can find a couple of other guys in the resort you are staying at to go in with you and split the cost for the trip. If you need any more info you can email me.

Re:fishing
i am an american and currently work on tour boats in the pv area. 1st take a boat from punta de mita, it is 2 hrs closer to the fishing grounds than pv. this means less time fishing and more time traveling if you leave from pv. all boats fish the buoys outside punta de mita or the corbetena, a seamount one hr outside of punta de mita. big snapper and tuna are in strong right now. sometimes there are others that share trips. the cost is for the boat not per person. we chg 45 usd /hr with average close trip 6hrs and to the corbetena 8-12 hrs. we have all penn and shimano gear, up to date tackle that is all in top shape. our panga is a 25 ft with shade, livewell and new honda 90hp. send me and email for more infoclewluss (Jan 13, 2004 09:50 p.m.):
