My wife and I and another couple tried this about two years ago when we were in vallarta the last time. We had a blast, and intend on going in next week when we return there. Drove through town...went through a couple of small villages....hit the sand bed and river where we got completely drenched....stopped at a local for a drink....ran through some other terrain for a while and stopped for another drink and food on the way back. (this place had an outdoor shower where we could get the sand and dirt off) Well worth it in my mind. Suggestion: bring some clean dry clothes in a plastic bag or something....the cab drivers were not wanting to take us back wet.
