Taxi from airport ...TIPS ANYONE?

Whats the taxi fair from the airport to Villa Del Palmar (right beside us is the holiday inn) Anyone??? Also I need some tips on how to get a cheap taxi to my hotel. Thanks

Should be no more than $12.00 US. If you want to try and save some money you can cross the pedestrian bridge across the highway and take a regular yellow city cab. But I must warn you, the yellow cab drivers are catching on and some are charging almost the same fares as the white airport cabs. My advice is to go ahead and pay for the white airport cab especially if you have lots of luggage.

Ageeing with the post above, just take an airport taxi (white). They are regulated prices, like many airports around the world. Buy a ticket from the Taxi booth before you exit and join the cab line outside the door.

Unless you have little to no luggage, then you can leave the airport and attempt to find a regular (yellow) town cab outside the airport regulated area, or if you have peso coins and are adventurous,catch a local bus for 4 or 5 peso.

So I am staying at up at Viva Wyndham Vallarta on Punta de Mita.
What should I pay for a cab ride up to there?

There were people getting charged $350 pesos from the airport to north Nuevo last week, so I bet you will be looking at least $600 or so. I would look at renting a car.

There is also a van \"TAXI\" that parks by the Sheraton that charges $100US per day to give tours and haul people around. It is for 1 or a load of people. Maybe something to look into if there are several of you. Once there you can take the bus about anywhere.

I just got back. I did some \"shopping around\" at the PV airport and the taxi staions wanted $60 US to take me the 30inutes or so to Viva Vallarta (which is almost to Punta Mita). I walked across the bridge Mrmike was referring to and got a yellow cab for $35. MUCH better.
The key seems to be a willingness to shop around and to haggle.

there is also an ad somewhere on here for \"limo\" service too... you can negotiate a rate directly on line... we used them last year to take 4 of us to the CP because of the baggage we were taking since we were all staying for two weeks..... too much clothes but it was worth the comfort of the almost new surburban we got with the AIR on cool lol....
