Hello. Has anyone rented a vehicle for a week while staying in Nuevo? Is it a good idea to plan this from Canada?
Thanks

Re:Renting a vehicle
Since your are staying in Nuevo, the 2 rental places in Bucerias might be more convenient. One is Gecko Rental cars and the other is Amigo rentals. Both are about the same price and includes all necessary insurance. If looking at other car rental sites, just remember those prices do not include the required liability insurance. I think the prices are higher if you wait until you get to PV.

Go toTravelocity and book the car before you go. Just watch the quotes, if they do not include insurance STAY AWAY, Avis hit me for $25US a day. Also remember that there will be 20-25% salestax that also is on the insurance. Another thing is that the cars are expected to be returned with the amount of fuel that they left with. We have found that the best way to get around is to park in the Walmart lot, then take the bus downtown, saves alot of headaches.
Re:Renting a vehicle
If renting the car when arriving (good idea, since cab fare to hotel is $$$$), Dollar has a desk at the airport. We rented last 4 times from them and prices as good as any. Just last month got a VW standard for $11.99 USD a day plus the $17 a day insurance plus tax. Sedan with A/C around $30 USD. But make reservation in advance on their web site...
