From Mayan in NV to downtown PV

How do I use public transportation to get to downtown PV from Mayan Palace in Nuevo? Don’t want to take a taxi back and forth and how late does the bus run. I will like to go into town quite frequent to eat and enjoy the Melacon.

You take the free shuttle bus from the Mayan Palace to the Sea Garden Market (a small grocery store owned by the Mayan located in front of the Sea garden). You then walk 30 feet north to the ATM bus stop. There is a bus every 20 minutes or so. Costs 10 pesos to PV. Rather than getting off at Walmart and changing to a city bus, stay on the ATM bus to the end of the line, which is the terminal in downtown PV. It is about 5 blocks east of the Malecon. Saves time as the bus has no stops, and saves the 4 peso fare for the city bus. The buses run until 10:00 or 10:30, check with the desk at the hotel or the concierge out front, they will know for sure.

We just returned from the Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Palace and we did take the bus system to downtown. I agree with the previous post, except that the ATM bus stopped at Plaza Las Glorias, which is much more than 4 or 5 blocks from the Malecon. We did take another bus for 4 pesos to \"Centro\".

On the return take the bus downtown and change at the WalMart. There you have a different bus stop than the one used by the downtown buses... just a bit further north, right in front of WalMart. There is a \"dispatcher\" at that bus stop who is very helpful to those who need a bit of assistance to take the right bus.

Thank you so much for the help. I will book my trip for January at the Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta. I was concerned about being stuck at the resort. I am familiar with the bus system, stayed at Las Glorias for two week 3 years ago.
