Planning a trip to PV for a week... then somehow getting to Mazatlan and spending a week there with friends. Can anyone give me information on this?

    Comfort level (AC?)?
 They actually live closer to Villa Union, (30-40 min south of Mazatlan)... anyone know if we can just get off there rather than go all the way into the chaos they call Mazatlan?
