Just back from a 10 day summer run to PV. First time we have been there in summer, and it is as hot and humid as we were told.The jungle is a wonderful fresh green. It rained often, mostly afternoon or evening, with some very heavy at times. There is a lot of construction by the marina for the new docks. Roads are limited in some spots. Parque Cardenas is being raized. They installed chain link fencing around it, and crews are working to make it an underground parking lot, similar to Hidalgo. Molino de Agua is a memory as well. The buildings are being salvaged and demolished systematically, to make room for 5 towers of condos. The empty lot on P.Suarez, between Carranza and Cardenas is slated to be a huge supermarket, and the bus stops have been moved. One of the nice things is that all you gringos are not there, and Mexican familes abound at the beach and elsewhere, enjoying their time in paradise. One of the bad things is that all you gringos are not there, and we detected a slight, but perceptible, negative attitude regarding our prescence. But not enough to deter us from having a good time, and everyone was still friendly. And prices are definitely climbing....

Progress marches on. When we were down there in June all that construction was quite the mess. YUK
I just came back 3 weeks ago, we were all over PV every day and night for 2 weeks and I never saw/felt a negative attitude regarding our presence there.One of the bad things is that all you gringos are not there, and we detected a slight, but perceptible, negative attitude regarding our prescence.
The weather was hot and humid and the storms and lightening over the bay were awsome.
Traffic from the airport to the hotel zone was just like a giant parking lot but hopefully when they finish the bridge (AGAIN) the traffic will ease up. Traffic is always horrible when it is vacation/holiday time for the mexican nationals, they love Vallarta just like we do.
