Just returned from one week at Grand & Club Marival...I rate it a firm 9 out of ten! The hotel was fantastic, the food was great, the service was wonderful and it was a great trip. Only complaint was that the jelly fish were coming in on the beach so we stayed at the pool area and drank a lot...WHAT A SHAME! NOT!!!

Re:PV VAcation At Grand And Club Marival
Just wondering, do you feel that the resort is accomidating to wheelchairs, or at least someone that has trouble using stairs and walking for long periods of time.
How are the drinks served? Are they all put into plastic cups, how about the beer, can you get bottles or are they poured into plastic. Do they come to you are do you have to go get your own?
We love PV, We stayed at the Royal Decameron last time and are wondering about staying somewhere different.
Also what kind of bus did you get for the ride to and from airport, again problems with stairs etc.
Thanks.,

MH: Just read your questions if the Marival resort is wheelchair friendly. We have been to this resort twice within the last two years. Just this last March we went down with our whole family including my 80 year old dad who has a very difficult time walking. He had a geat time, so much so that we are all going back again in 2006. He found it very easy to get around to all the pools, beach and all the restaurants. There are also ramps for wheelchairs to get around both resorts. If one of your guest is in a wheelchair or has a difficult time getting around you MUST STAY ON THE GRAND SIDE as the Club side has no elevators and you are not guaranteed a ground floor. We found this out the hard way. We are staying on the Grand side of these two resorts the next time. (Stayed at the Grand the first time and the Club the second time we went)
As for the drinks. Unless you are in one of the restaurants the drinks are served in plastic glasses for your safety. Your question on being served. If you are at one of the many restaurants they take your order. One of the outside bars also have people who serve you but it generally is faster if you go up to the bar yourself. Around the beach and pool areas you need to go up to one of the bars. If you have any questions do not hesitate to email me @
