We just got back from our sixth trip to PV. Did a lot of local bus travel from Boca De Tomatlan to San Blas. I was able to obtain a lot of info from this board so if anybody would like some current info, I will be happy to share. Stayed at the RDC in the Bucerias area.

Good for you, welcome home... how was things at the RDC this year... make sure you post a trip report on all your adventures for the rest of the board to review, ask questions, etc.... take care...
I would be interested to hear how the RDC was? Also, if anyone has stayed at DLC in Rincon..??
My wife and I stayed at the RDC 8-22 Oct. We are in our fifties. The RDC was busy yet all the services were handled nicely, for example, the buffets may have had a couple minutes wait for a table only during a 15 minute peak period. Most times there was no wait at all. Services offered at the a la carte restaurants were very well done and popular. It was easy for my wife and I to get a table for two. The food was good although down a little from our previous visit 3 years ago. The evening stage shows, front desks, money exchanges, pool activities, tennis courts, towel exchanges and waiter services were generally quite good. The upkeep of the complex grounds was very good. We moved from block 2 to block 5. The block 2 room was a little tired and the AC was loud and did not work the greatest. I would recommend block 5 for couples and block 6 for families. The bar service was generally very good. The beaches were great and there are many opportunities for excellent local excursions and tours. I believe we got exceptional value at a nice hotel in a fantastic area.
This place is big and busy with many Mexican families as well as Canadians, people from the UK and others. There will be times that you will find, on occasion, that public washrooms need cleaning, those plastic cups are just dropped on the ground instead of in the garbage can and people can be a little pushy at the buffet food tables but I believe that is to be expected with such a large facility. If you find perfect, let me know where it is. I had two big personal disappointments: the wine, either red or white, was terrible and the disco was full of kids/teenagers most of whom would not meet the age requirement of being over 18. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend the place. If there are any questions about a specific interest, please feel free to email me. I got tons of pictures.
You mentioned the Decameron Los Cocos. My wife and I had breakfast there. First impressions were, wow, what a difference between a 3 star and a 4 star. Food choices were tasty but the RDC was definitely superior. Small pools and the washroom was filthy. Keep in mind we were there for a total of 30 minutes but I would not go there. The person sitting next to me on the plane ride back said she liked it there so maybe we hit them on a bad day.

DLC is definately cheaper than RDC, and I have seen that people who have never been to Mexico before and get a very good deal for DLC are happy with their stay. As for us who are fans of the RDC, we do not like the DLC because of its distance from PV and its 3 star rating, but if it is your first taste of Mexico then I am sure it is fine.
RDC
