Well we just returned from a seven day trip to PV. This was my 8th trip down and probably one of the best! (they just seem to get better and better)
We arrived at 3:30 on Sunday and took the bus to Villa Del Palmar and checked in to our room (after stopping to pick up some beers and tequila). We checked out the beach first thing and were pleasantly suprised at what we found. There was ample beach and quite a few palapas and umbrellas set up. They tore down the old jetty and built two new ones between VDP and the Qualton and VDP and the Holiday inn. They do interfere with the view but not to bad.
We then headed down town to Parque Hidalgo for some street food. We went to our favorite taco stand (Taqueria de Bigotes) and had Tacos al pastor, our favorite. Then headed over to (andreas ?) stand and had some tamales followed by a crepe. What a meal and all for 4 USD for two...
We then walked the Malecon in the (light) rain and ended up at the cuban place for some salsa dancing.
Day two: Sat on the beach at VDP, drank beer and ate quesadillas. Went to the Gigante for supplies. That night we ate at a fantastic new restaruant called Los Xitomates (see restaraunt section for review). Afterwards we made our first ever trip to Andales. What a great place! We danced till 2:00 and then took a taxi home.
Day Three: Went on our obligatory members update (read Time Share presentation, had to get that gold card..:) Then sat on the beach at VDP. Went out for dinner to Barcelonas, again our first time there and the food was spectacular! Then on to Andales for the second time. Cant get enough of the Alice song...
Day Four: Sat on the beach at El Dorados in Punta De Mita, same day different beach. Then off for a wonderful dinner at Cafe De Olla, one of our all time favorites and a must do on every trip. Then walked from south of the river to the Malecon and did some shopping along the way.
Day Five: Again sat on the beach at VDP (Hey! this year we just wanted to relax so we did!). Went on the Rythms of the Night tour with Vallarta adventures. As usual we had a wonderful time. Met some great people from Colorado and Missouri. The show was everything we expected and the food was wonderful. Danced on the way back. What a great thing that was, slow dancing under the stars while on a boat and seeing the lights of Bahis de Banderas... muy romantica!
Day six: Getting anxious now, last full day so we sat on the beach at VDP! Had our last dinner the way we began, at Parque Hildago. Tacos, Tamales and Hilado.
Day seven: pack up, check out and sit on the beach at VDP. Went for a one hour massage followed by a taxi ride to the airport. All down hill from there...
This trip was unusual for us, we are usually alot more active, horse back riding with Marco Polo, more \"Activities\" etc. We really enjoyed ourselves...
