First Week at the Melia

Well, we got here last Saturday, with our children and grandchildren. Checked in, had to recuperate from what was definitely the worst flight of our life. Very rough, the grandchildren threw up. but we are back at the Melia.

Some changes have occured, some staff are no longer here, and there is another restaurant which we have not checked out yet.

The second night our oldest and dumbest took their little 16 year old sister out and got her plastered. Not a good thing. she lost a whole day recuperating. didn{t fizz on them.

They decided to do the horseback tour, and had a blast. Nothing that two sessions the massage lady could not fix. Payed $ 35 bucks for a DVD of their trip. I guess they will see it when they get home.

Food is great, always is, nice to have your drinks served in real glasses, instead of the plastic stuff you get elsewhere. Service is great here, whether you tip or not. I guess that means you cannot improve on perfection, you only are tipping for the service you got, not to improve on it. Beds are again rock hard, but we got wiser and brought along a vaccuum packed foam mattress so stuck that on the bed and worked wonders.}
They had a bottle of champage for us at checkin which was nice. and then provided one for us on our anniversary on the 29th- . The maid also did up our beds with hearts in red flowers and two swans made from the towwels. Real neat.


The oldest of our kids (5 of them) left this morning for home, so now there is just the two of us with our youngest two for the next week. I think we can recuperate from last week now.

I was going to tell you about the food but thought i would let it be a surprize :P did Ricardo the hotel manager come say hi to you, i called him last week to tell him my friends were there. have fun buddy

I just finished an hour long telephone conversation with our friend Big Bill who took me on a tour of PV.
How nice of you to take the initiative on your plane flight to walk up to our friends and introduce yourself and ask do you know Sylvia . Thanks. They appreciated the warm gesture.
Another conversation tomorrow and 500 pics in email. :)
Highs of their trip was the 7 hour tour to Yelapa.
The Pirate ship cruise. Steak and shrimp and excellent acting from the moment they stepped on board. Proceeds from sale of tee shirts etc went to the Orphanage. Mismaloya was a must. Whales and 12 foot Mantra rays were sighted. (Huge) ( Damn I am missing the fun)
This couple was with us before during and after Kenna. I asked them what they thought of Las Palmas this trip and would they return to the Resort. We differ on opinion and they would return without a doubt.
We plan to meet them next trip.

Ron i forgot to tell you what star and i do now. I bought a snap kit like the ones for your coat, at the hardwear store for like $3 and we cut our bands and put on a snap, then when we leave the resort we take them off, and put on when we come back. works great, then we just tell them we own here. :lol:

Rapid...although I like your idea, you really do run the risk of trouble back at the AI...they can and will charge you to replace an altered wrist band...fyi...sonofdob.
