We did have one there and it was great. Looking forward to checking it out a little longer this time!
current best places AFTER dinner for 40+ crowd

Not sure what this has to do with the over 40 crowd having fun in PV......
We enjoyed watching a soccer game at El Torito in Old Town. The service and food were good. They have a website. I searched online \"sports bar puerto vallarta\" and it looks like there are several, but I have only been to El Torito.
Sports
Steves Sports Bar is the one on Basillo . Blakes Sports Bar in the hotel zone would be another option .
Chris ( just read your post ) you should of gave the pervy waiter a knuckle sandwich or a knee in the kabobs !

Yes, La Bodeguita has a dance floor. They have live music for salsa dancing. I wish I knew how to salsa dance! I noticed at Yoga Vallarta that they have a $5 salsa lesson once a week.
You can see day/time of class at their website online.

A little off the beaten path, but our favorite for Football is La Escondida at # 210 Jacarandas (off the corner of Madero) It has always been, to us, like a Cheers. 7 or 8 TVs, all channels and comfortable seats. Very moderately priced drinks and snacks. The owner Suzzane is a wonderful Gal.
We love off the beaten path type places and wonderful staff means more than the name! Thank you Howard will look those streets up on the map!
For the real salsa lovers got to Jota Be (JB)!
I have been to puerto vallarta about 15 times and the best place that i have found for real salsa dancing is Jota Be. I was told by my friends that work at the resort that it is a world famous salsa club and they have huge dancing tournaments throughout the year. Although it is very local and they were surprised to see a white dude there they loved having me and i was treated like a king. My waiter even took the time to find me a hot senorita to help teach me the salsa moves. The waiter spoke very good english but he may have only been my waiter because none of the others spoke english. He is pretty tall so he is easy to spot. Dancing starts around 11 but I believe that you can go in there for instructions a little earlier. On either fridays or saturdays they have a live salsa band and i must say from the moment they started playing I fell in love with salsa. They also have instructional dvds that you can buy that have english subtitles for fairly cheap. Feel free to ask me any questions as I have been all over puerto vallarta as well as outer laying towns.
Where is JB? I want to go!! When are you going to be in PV?

We were there last year but it was the wrong night or too early because there were hardly any people there....
I think he liked the senorita more than the place........ha,ha!!
Jota Be
When I went it was either a Friday or Saturday night and the place started to fill up around 12. I think most people came to see the live band that started around 12. Your best bet would be to ask one of the guys at the resort if they might know. I do have 2 small clips of video but im not sure how to post them.
just back from annual stay - have to say we frequent a bar annually
that many others here rave about; without naming name, we had a bad
experience with double invoicing and our argument was met with
comments insinuating gender discrimination (towards our waitress)
our feeling is that this particular establishment has become too complacent.
this mistake was made early in evening - packed crowd and/or our
alcohol intake were not a factor here.
we will take a break from this extremely popular watering hole.
have fun and watch your wallet.

Had the mojitos there last time. Remember them from in Cuba. I think it is best if you can get a seat on the main floor. Which night is good to go? We have been there during the week and it was pretty quiet.
Sorry, I just saw your question now. Perhaps you are there already!!!!
Yes, sit on the main floor, definitely. I think it is open all nights, but there is one night per week that the band does not play; I think it is Monday night no band.
Fri and Sat are more crowded, but whenever I have been there, it has been pretty busy. Later is better. I think they close around 1 am.

Do love La Bodegita. Was in PV the last two weeks in February and spent several nights here. Always someone asking us to dance and I particularly like it during the week when its mostly locals. Roxies was crazy as usual....Still love that bar and all the staff! Been going back year after year and its nice to be greeted with big hugs from a lot of the staff!
My trip was amazing as usual!! LOL...met so many cool people and my daughter (23) joined the madness for the first week. She has been to PV 4 times and said this was her best trip ever!! Guess I should post one of my little vacation stories...
