We have never been there in the summer, so someone else will have to answer with respect to what a 14 year old can do at that time. We have taken our teens with us and usually stay at the Melia which is an all inclusive in the marina district.
It is a beautiful place, that totally caters to families with children, (in fact it is probably ½ adults and ½ kids, and there is a pile of things to do, see, eat, but as the kids got older they complained that there was less and less for them to do.. Even though allows teens to stay with their families (family room with a set of bunk beds) it is in my teens opinion better suited to the 12 and under group. Plus, not to many families take their older teens, so they really had no others their age to team up with for activities.
When the kids were as young as 8 they had a great time.. The last time they were 15 and 17, and pretty much stayed at the climbing wall and shooting area.
I have heard the Crown (next to the GCP) is a good place for families as well, but have never been there. We have also stayed at the Allegro in Neuvo (beautiful beach, great food 3 star) and it would be as good a choice as any for both you and the young man.

Newschooler, if you think the condos are sick why did you post the link to the vrbo site?
The condos on the BVRB site are not sick.
Most are very beautiful. I know because I used this site in the past and found a lovely condo to my liking.
