walking distance

In september I will be visiting Puerto Vallarta for the first time to study Spanish. I will be staying at Hotel Encimo (right beside the flea market and cafe Roma). The school is located on calle Republica de Chili (near the beach). It looks to be a reasonable walking distance, but the maps that I have found have no scale so I can`t be sure. If a taxi is recommended what would I expect to pay for the trip.

Unfortunately I stumbled upon this amazingly informative site after I had made my reservations, no problems I like walking.
There is a wealth of information on this site but I did not find anything about Spanish schools so I will certainly post my impressions of the school I will be attending when I return.

Please let me know about the school as I have registered for lessons in January. The location sounds exactly the same.
