Treats / Gifts to Bring for locals or Hotel Staff

That is a wonderful story!! It gives me goose bumps and makes me teary eyed just reading it. Any little thing is so appreciated by the Mexican people. One thing that I know was a big hit at the GCP was the Life Saver Creme Savors. I bought like 7 bags and handed them out to the front desk, bellmen, security, maids, wait staff, etc. Another thing that the maids like is the small travel items from Bath and Body Works.... A big hit with the GCP and CPC hotel staff kids were the smaller footballs and basketballs. We had purchased several Iowa and Iowa State ones and they loved them!!!

I bring down keychains that have Canada on them and leave them for the maid with a nice tip... always have amazing service... I have to go shoppin soon as I have nothing right now.

Along with cash tips I like to give the Hotel maids ..... designer prefume samples I collect through the year... I try and put together a special eve for the gals...For example...A Few sweets... perfume..bathbubbles...candles,... candle holders and I always bring postcards from home to show the area we live in...

have made..I will try and remember this...

You being from Canada this wont help much ,,but we bring 2 dollar (US)bills ,,they dont see too many of them ,,and we have been told they get a bit more pesos for them

I was not aware of this practice - who do I give the items to? I would love to take a little \"bag\" of goodies for the staff at GPC...especially maids and staff that I will have direct contact with - how do I give it to them though without seeming weird? Or do Tips work just as well?
