Travel from PV to Nuevo Vallarta (Mayan Palace)

What would be the most efficient way to travel from the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta to the Malecon and not have to spend an arm and a leg?

Hola from PV! I guess I should post this under a travel report - I am ashamed to say that even tho I live here, it has been ages since I have been to Nuevo Vallarta! But, yesterday I had to go and took the bus, round trip and it was great!!! Big comfy seats, nice and cool, a fairly quick ride and only 10 pesos! So that will be your best and most economical way to go between your hotel and PV. The Nuevo Vallarta bus does not go all the way into the downtown-Malecon but stops (end of line) just past the Buenaventura Hotel at the beginning of the downtown. But, it is an easy walk to the Malecon. To return, I would suggest catching it across the street from the Sheraton Hotel. Runs from around 8am til about 10pm. Taxis 24 hours a day. Passes by the outside (on main road) of the Mayan Palace about every 15 minutes or so.

We got in a large white surburban with 5 other people and their luggage. We were each charged $6.00. It is said that you can take the overpass to the other side of the road and catch a yellow taxi, which would be cheaper but then you have to haul all of your gear. I would just prefer to get to hotel the quickest and pay the $6.00.
