travel from Pv to Mazatlan

Hello All! I will be travelling with 3 other people from PV to Mazatlan. I am trying to gather information about bus or train service. Is it safe and economical, or would you suggest flying? Any experiences or info would be greatly appreciated!

I think the bus company Pacifico still does the PV - Mazatlan every day around 9:00pm for approx. 260 pesos one way. At least they did. Telephone (322) 221-0869 or 221-1640. Taking the bus is safe and the best way unless you want to rent a car. Flying is expensive.

Thank you all for your responses! I was having a difficult time trying to gather infornation. I will also be taking the bus back from Mazatlan to PV (for some reason I am able to fly home from PV but not Mazatlan....go figure), do the busses run the same route back as well? Would you suggest buying tickets in advance, or making reservations of some sort?
