Re:Time Share Presentations
We recently went to PV and agreed to go on a time share visit when the Alamo Rental rep told us they would pay $150 US toward our rental car. The rep made is sound like it would be relatively quick and painless. We agreed to stay for the hour and a half presentation and it took much longer. It wasn’t quick but it was relatively painless. We started at 9:30 and did not leave the probably until 12. We ate a decent breakfast and were shown a nice property. The first sales person was always very nice and cordial. Her manager was equally nice and cordial. The hard sell came as we said no to the first two and the final salesmen wanted to sell us not on a time share but a vacation type package for rooms. That was the only hard sell during the entire experience. He was the only person who was unpleasant. I have to admit we were regretting it while we were going through the program but when we turned in our car and got the $150 US credit, it felt much better as we were leaving PV.

Would we do it again? Probably not but it wasn’t a bad experience for us. It did eat into our vacation time but the facility was in Nuevo Vallarta, an area that we wanted to visit anyway.

If you have time and don’t mind experiencing sales tactic, then you should go if you want to save some money or earn money. It’ll just depend on what they were promising you.

Re:Time Share Presentations
We got suckered at the airport as this was our first visit to PV. The property was Paradise Village in Nuevo and we later found that thiers was a cake walk compared to some others like Mayan Village. The talk was three hours but at the time we had a great sales person who was telling us what to see and where to go in PV rather than trying to sell the TS. This was our second day in PV and we had no idea if we even wanted to come back let alone spend 50,000 on a timeshare like that would ever happen. We got some great things like Rythems of the Night, and the Canopy Tour free. We had a great time and do want to return to Puerto Vallarta. Warm water, friendly people, cheaper and closer than Hawaii and lots more to explore and find out for next time. When we got home and decided we wanted to go back every year I searched the timeshare resales on the internet and found Tri West and Holiday. They had the places we wanted to come back to for only 10% of that 50,000. There are some in old town for as little as 2000usd. So do not buy a TS while in Mexico shop at home comfortably with no pressure in front of your computor.
