I am going to P.V. this weekend and I want to know if you need to know a lot of Spanish? Or can I get away with a little Spanish and mostly English?

Re:Speaking Spanish
learning and using a little Spanish, is appreciated by the hometown folks. I believe mostly it is a sign of repect for them and their country. While I can speak it a bit, I am fortunate that my Wife speaks it fluently, learned in her youth, while living in Spain. Those who know me, are aware that i look more Mexican then most of the Mexicans and am approched, always by the locals in rapid fire Spanish. Occasionally a tourist thinking I am a local will ask me a question in broken Spanish. Do they get a surprise when they are answered in a combo New York/Southern Redneck English. You will get by just fine. Just be nice and enjoy.
