What about snorkeling down in MIsmaloya or down south at Careyes? Is it better there. I can understand how the Bahia de Banderas might be murky, etc. But am hoping there are some rocky points or reefs down south.

How one of the largest bays in the world be dirty and merky? If you go snorkling near the mouth of one of the rivers it is going to be merkier than away from the river, especially if it has rained recently. There are several good snorkling spots down south. The water is warm much like Hawaii. I will have to admit snorkling is not as good as Hawaii, but you will certainly see more than brown and grey fish.
