Questions on money and things

Hi new to Mexico. I have been reading all the tips on the bulletin board during last month, and I still need some more help. I am arriving on Saturday, May 17, 9:30pm. Is the bank or money exchange open that late at the airport? Also leaving the following Saturday at 9:00pm, is the duty free store open that late? I am staying at the Occidental Grande Nuevo Vallarta; does anybody know anything about that resort? It is an AI and I want to know do we have to carry cash all the time; example: if we get drinks delivered to the pool or beach do we have to tip? What about when I’m eating at the buffet or the alcarte restaurant, do we have to tip? And how much? What is the smallest bill for the peso, on the web I saw a $20 bill, is there a 10, 5 and 1 peso in coins? It would be appreciated if somebody can answer any of these questions, thanks!

I was in PV in March and came home with some unspent pesos. The smallest bill I have is a 5 peso bill as well as a 10 peso bill.

Oops! I had a brain fart! Went and looked at my peso stash and all of you are very right. Smallest bill I have is 20 pesos. I was having a blond moment - my apologies.

Another thing, we like great seafood I hear La Casa De Las Garza and Blue Shrimp is very good. Can somebody tell me which part of town they are in thanks.

I have never eaten there (unfortunately too expensive for me) but saw this ad in Vallarta Lifestyles magazine.

Maybe it is different out at the Nuevo resorts, but for doing \"business\" in downtown, i.e., restaurants, snacks, stores, taxi, bus, small item shopping... will be much easier if you use an ATM or change some cash into peso, rather than try to spend US or Canadian dollars.

Adobe Cafe is closed for the summer.
