Was wondering if anyone ever calls the hotel directly and places reservations over the phone. I was thinking about going to Ixtapa for a couple of days and saw the prices of the hotel I wanted through Expedia to be $385.00 a night. I went to the hotels website and found the price to be $188.00 a night. Thats a significant difference. My concern would be giving my credit card number over the phone to someone in another country. So was wondering if any of you have tried it. Would calling GCP directly give you a better price than say Expedia?
question on GCP and other PV hot spots.

If you call the resort directly you will want to talk to Angie Garcia in Sales and Promotions to check on availability and rates. I am not sure what the occupancy is right now. At last report from the resort things were going well and they were at least 98% full. If you are talking Angie you should not have any problems with your CC or if she turns you over to Carmen (reservations) or Rose Mary (internet-reservations) or any of the other young ladies that work in that office, as they all speak excellent english...

Just for your information we have stayed at the GCP 9 times and love it, but their prices booking directly with them are higher than you can find else where. Try Alaska Airlines vacation packages from your location. You can book on line at their website or over the phone, it is an US 800 number. Oh if you do want to call them the new PR person as of a couple weeks ago to Lorena, the front desk manager (real nice guy) is Ricardo Michel.
