As mentioned above, walking the Malecon, especially on Sunday evening when everyone is out.
On the beach in front of the Villa del Palmer there are a lot water activities including parasailing, banana boat riding, kayaking, and wave runners. You can also rent a fishing boat.
Which brings up something else. Try to do something on a boat out in the bay. The sites are fabulous and the water is beautiful. One of my favorites is Las Caletas by day. Beautiful secluded beach.
There is a grocery store across the street and a little south from the VDP. It is called Gigante. You can go there to buy snacks for your stay. I also think it is interesting to visit a grocery strore there just to see the different things. LOL.
