Re:planning a trip to PV
There is nothing to be nervous about. It is a wonderful place to visit. It is safe, it is clean, the water is the best in Mexico. I am sure you will see lots of posts from people that have gone to the Crown Plaza time and time again and love it. There is plenty for all three of you to do. In truth, your visit will be way to short.

Unless you are taking something very out of the ordinary (agricultural stuff, fish, over $10,000 USD cash), you do not declare anything going into Mexico. After you get your bags you will be directed to customs, keep the three of you together, they will have one of you will push a button which will activate a green or red light. If it is green (which is the majority of the time) you are on your way, if it is red they send you over for baggage inspection. Again unless you have something really out of the ordinary like weapons, this is no big deal, they just sort of shuffle through one of your bags an send you on your way.

Just relax and have fun, Vallarta is one of the best destination on earth.
