peso exchange rate???

What is the exchange rate for the peso and American dollar right now? Is it better to exchange it in the States?

Today l got 9.8 pesos to American $ at the bank.

Was in PV Dec 5-15, most places seemed to be offering $1US = 9.90 peso (like the casa de cambio and even my hotel front desk).

Exchange for American $ today was 10.2 (Jan 3rd.)

Depends on where you trade. Banks are the best, hotels are the worst. Most money changers are 1-8% over the current exchange rate. Years ago I even saw some speculation and got lower than the exchange rate. You should be able to get rate + 1-2% on the street. Exchange rate 1-6-03 is 10.14 pesos to the US$$. You will get around 10.05 at the bank and 9.9 on the street. This will change daily.
