newbie questions

Hi people... its gonna be my frist tirp to Puerto Vallarta and ill be a be staying at the Allegro in Nuevo Vallarta. Anyways, i have a couple questions.

1. What is \"Bucerias \"? where is this located on the map.. is ti worth going there?
2. Whate the best way getting to Malecon? i read someplace that there is a Boat, at the Marina behind the Mall, that takes you to downtown PV is better then acally taking a regualar taxi
3. Umm, where is the Marina in Nuevo Vallarta?
4. Where is the Mall in Nuevo Vallarta? agian, is it worth going there?

as you can see i am a total Newbie... please help me, i really like to be prepared when i get there at the end of August... thank you

Hello, we stayed there in December/January and had a pretty good time. The Paradise Mall is just down the street from the entrance to the Hotel. From the lobby of the Hotel to the entrance of the Mall is no more than 500 feet. There are bank machines, and a bank to change money at the mall entrance, lots of stores, including a large grocery store, drug store, restarants, a McDonalds, Dominoes Pizza, really good Ice Cream shop, two interac cafes, some regular clothing stores and some pretty high priced clothing stores also.. At the edge of the mall (far side), (Less than 500 feet) is the Marina entrance. Just walk down the driveway to the marina, where you will see the tours, including one for the African Queen, (up a local river) and the watertaxi into PV. For the two of us it was the same price in total as what a regular taxi would have cost.

As for Bucerias, they say it is a short walk up the beach from the Allegro, We were just to lazy to walk it, and hired a taxi for the afternoon. It cost us 500 pesos, for which he took us there, parked his taxi on the last street before the beach in Bucerias, and we walked, ate at one of the great restaurants there, and shopped in those three or four blocks of sidewalk sales shacks they have, for three hours, and then returned to the taxi, for our ride back to the Allegro. Liquor prices at the liquor store were the same as at the duty free in the Airport. Other stuff was cheaper than the Malecon. Bucerias is a nice place to visit.
