Need A Pass Port to Travel to PV From California

Hello,

anyone from knows if we are required to have a pass port if we are american citizens to enter
Puerto Vallarta? will customs in Puerto Vallarta make it difficult to enter??

What are the procedures if you just have an ID & a Birthcertificate

Hmmm....got my passport in Aug 2003 using my old California birth certificate, perhaps you looked suspect Goyo. LOL

I am in Iowa. We got to the airport on the 22 of Feb. The wife had her ID and Birth Cert. They would not let her fly because the name on the Drivers License was not the same as the Birth Cert. (No kidding..she is now married) So she had to get a noterized form that said she was a US citizen.
I assume so she could get back into the country. We could not leave until the next day.
Moral of the story........ Get a Passport to avoid any problems with the way officials interpet the laws.
All in all we had a good time in PV. Met some really nice people.

IF you are married and your named changed...bring drivers license, birth certificate, AND marriage license. You can get a passport in 48 hours as well not sure how SECURE that is. I did it in Chicago. Only needed drivers license, birth certificate which was NOT an original, and dont forget the DINERO! You have to set up an appointment and bring a copy of your airline tickets or travel itinerary as well. Not sure how it is in other states was relatively easy in Chicago other than you have to go downtown and wait for the govt workers to decide to work!
