I was just told last night that I would need to get a booster shot and some other kind of shot. Is this true?

Agreed!
I have to agree with you Stew, even here in iowa we to take many things for granted. and with all the airborne pathagins, you do have to take precautions. Even the common cold and flu could have detrimental influences on a vacation, going down or coming back. and i too have to agree with you about the recycled air on airlines. YUCK... it is almost time to start passing out the little dust masks when you get on your flight to protect yourself from others coughing, hacking and wheezing when you get onboard.

Dr. Dr., SHOTS please. Tequila, Whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka, Nurse make them doubles too... HA HA

A good buddy of mine has flown for United for over 30 years. She says that there are a couple of hundred cold viruses out there & Flight Attendents catch them all the first couple of year of flying missing many many days, Then it is less & less as their systems become imune.
lol tojo i think those are the shots ill be doing. i get the flu shot every year so i dont think i have to worry. but ill get one before i go just to be safe
 You might consider a tetanus booster, depending on when you had your last one - 7 to 9 years is the rule of thumb. You never know what you might step on while walking on the beach! If you do happen to cut yourself or get a puncture wound that does not require suturing you only have 72 hours from the time of injury to be covered by a tetanus. Just the emergency room nurse in me coming out!
