We will be returning in October 2006 for 2 weeks at the RDC. We were last there in October 2002 and did not get much accomplished due to Kenna. My wife and I are would like to spend alot of time in Bucerias as that is where we were married. I would like to know about the availability of cabs in the evenings in Bucerias, is it safe to walk to and from Bucerias from the RDC(how long). Where is a good place (if any) to surf fish in the RDC area. Is ther any option of hiring a driver for 3-4 hours to tour us around, and what would it cost. And lastly we had a very special dinner at Lost Paradise, Is it still open, same owners? Thanks in advance. :P

odd...staying at the RDC you are about a 20 min walk to the village, very safe...you can walk the beach or walk the streets. For the street, exit the RDC and immediately turn left. nice walk through residential area a few good spots to eat along the way. Cabs are plentiful and they will agree to a 3-4 hour charter, negotiate directly with the driver for a rate...you see many locals surf fishing all around Bucerias, so I imagine that is an option for you...the site that palapa_gal sent you is very good with alot of info....sonofdob.
Odd... we were evacuated to the De Cameron after Kenna so were there at the same time as you were.
I agree with sonofdob the walk to Bucerias is safe and very enjoyable.
If you take the street sonofdob suggested going into Bucerias you will find on the left hand side of the road large beautiful homes . Take time to look through the gates so you will not miss the wonderful Gardens.
Two years ago there was new construction going on and the contractors were very willing to show us how construction was done in Mexico.
On the right hand side of the street Old World Mexico meets New .
There is a small quaint brick building on the right side of the road. It is on a corner of the street and has a flat wavy roof. Even though it has a coke? sign hanging on the outside of the building do not peak in the windows.:oops: It is not a cafe it is a home. :D
