Re:Leaving PV by airport(what hell to go thru)
Have not heard anything like that since that terrible day a month ago. In the past I ver had anything checked going out until we hit the US in either in Dallas or Houston. I am heading that way this Friday and coming back in Nov, sure hope it is not that kind of grief.

Re:Leaving PV by airport(what hell to go thru)
In rereading the first post, it sounds to me like they are talking about carry on luggage. I will try to keep what I carry on to a bare minimum. I will put all the spare batteries for my cameras in the checked luggage. I will carry the 2 cameras with me. I think the first post may have been exagerated, but agree I would sure rather they would check.
Re:Leaving PV by airport(what hell to go thru)
Well from what I understand, this is not just carry on luggage. As I said this was passed on to us from a lady that just got back this past weekend. She told my husband that when they went thur her luggage that they went thur everything. She had the matchbooks in her shoes, that where packed away, not carry on and they threw them in their confiscation box.
I too would love to hear from someone else that has just come back since the Sept 11, attack.
Not trying to exagerate just passing on what I heard.
Re:Leaving PV by airport(what hell to go thru)
I am a very seasoned Mexico City/PVR traveler, as this is the way I arrive/depart between Chicago and PV every time I fly via Mexicana. BEFORE the 9/11 business, when you arrived in Mex. City from PV, 50 minutes is no problem, as you will not be required to go thru customs until you reach your final destination. NOW I am not sure. I leave next week 10/24 - 10/28 and will let you know what I encounter. After I arrive in PV, I will check this board and report my observations.

Hope this helps.
Thanks Kathy Lynn ....
Will much appreciate your reporting back ! Am also interested in the duty-free topic as well as I had heard earlier that nobody was shopping in the duty-free shops for fear of not being able to carry it on board with them. Would it not make more sense for the airlines to just keep all duty-free bottles in one storage spot on the plane & then have the passengers pick it up upon arrival. Maybe too much paperwork & time involved in something like that I guess. Oh well, just a thought. Looking forward to hearing from you after Oct.28th !

Ronnie,
What was it like arriving into PV, the same kind of stuff? or is just the ole red light green light set up still.
Thanks for setting it straight.....
