Only problem I have had is my battery chargers tend to get very hot, like there is a slight phase difference.

I just use my suitcase and lock it. While certainly this is not any guarantee it is harder to take a suitcase then something small and valuable from a room. That said, I have had great luck with wonderfully helpful and honest hotel maids in the past. I cannot imagine them taking anything from my room.

My hotel offers lockboxes not in the room but in a cubby down at the front desk but they would not be big enough for a large camera.

hey, no stupid question, always be imformed. I had my camera dock charging my camera everyday while i was in my room, no problems. i bought locks for my suitcases at caa that i harder to open the usual locks only $10.00 and worth it. cause a big suitcase is harder to steal than a camera dock or anything else you buy out there. Our hotel had securtiy boxes in the closet at a price of $2.00 a day, cheap for my safety.
