How much can I get from a timeshare presentation?

Dont you think this is a selfish thing to ask? Timeshare people may not be my favorite types but they are trying to make a honest living. I think you should think twice before swindling the resorts of of money. To me this is the same as stealing. am i the only person who feels this way?

I was on the undertanding that your vacation and the time that you have with your family or your wife worst a little more than $200USD.

Good on you, anni, this is a dishonest thing to do and teach kids about....getting something for nothing at the expense of others.

If you are planning on attending a presentation, you should get the best deal that you can. While in PV this April I heard of first time visitors being scammed into paying to attend a presentation. We attend one every couple years just to keep up with what is available for accommodations. I have gotten to expect that the sales pressure and condo prices increase in proportion with the rewards offered to take the tour. Most of the rewards offered are discounts on tours, restaurants or car rentals. I think that the $2-250 is about right, considering the last one that we attended we received 4 tours of which we went snorkeling on the BoraBora and Horseback riding. However a couple that we were talking with later said that we should have held out for a rental car also. If you have the time and are actually interested in viewing the property, go for it. But like others have stated if you are just going for the take you are wasting everyones time.

Actually, I consider it a waste of my time as well. With the limited amout of time that I have available to lay on the beach, one morning is valuable.

I fail to see how spending valuable family time lying to timeshare sharks , most of whom are trying to make a living , is anyway to spend your vacation.Do you really need money that bad .Personally I dont hold anything against timesharks but ,...my vacation time in PVR is WAY to valable to waste 1/2 a day lying to people. I also agree that if people quit going to these things we wouldnt be pestered with them there sems to be more every year .

It seems to me that there are plenty of inexpensive ways to enjoy PV. For instance pay the 40 pesos to take the bus marked \"Boca Tomatlan\" or Mismaloya, get off at the stop AFTER Mismaloya, which is Boca Tomatlan, walk down through the small town, have fresh red snapper caught and grilled right there, enjoy a beer for cheap. You can also catch a \"dingy\" there for cheap to go to the same beaches the Timesharks are offering cruises to (las animas, yelapa, etc.) and enjoy the whole day with a little more \"real mexico\" and a lot less hassle...

Just thought I would add a little something. The time shares are fully aware of what tourists are doing. However, they still maintain a 30% sale rate. Have any of you noticed lately what a time share is selling for? They definately have set it up to reel tourists in and know that people do not want to waste valuable vacation time sitting through a presentation for nothing. I, personally, think that it is great!!! Do you realize that the salesmen as well as the promoter who picks you up on the street make money just for bringing you? I know from experience, it benifits everyone, including the tourists. For those interested, I know someone that can help you if you are interested in making a little money on vacation.
