How is the Malecon doing?

Downtown doesnt look as busy as usual at this time of year but the marina is very busy.

We arrived in PV on Saturday the 16th and will be here til the 23rd. It is beautiful here and while some areas are torn apart, it is busy and we have not found anything lacking because of the hurricane. Everyone here is in great spirits and the president of Jalisco was here yesterday. We have been shopping up a storm, diving, dining, partying on the beach and by the pool. We are staying at the Villa Del Palmar and their 5 star attitude shines thru. So happy we did not cancel our trip, it is paradise. The Holiday Inn and the Sheraton are still closed but the other hotels are taking up the slack and even employing some of the employees that lost their jobs due to closures. We will write more manana. We are renting a jeep and going into the jungle!

Thank you for the report. If in your travels you could checkin on Los Tules, beside the Fiesta Americana and let a lot of us know how the property and beach are it would really be appreciated. It is home to a lot of us. Thanks,,, have fun hard not to in PV no matter what!

the malecon is a disaster area. work is being done to finish it for New years eve.

There is no malecon its being dug up. there is a lot of machinery and work being done but you can not walk along the sea wall.

just got back from 10 days. Malecon closed but the main square seeems to be taking up the local strolling slack with some sort of event almost every night. Most stores across from the Malecon are open. Every bar and restrurant I saw was open with the exception of the El Dorado (La Palapa open for lunch and dinner; would expect the roof to be completed this week-end. Los Muertos north of the pier is very little sand and mostly rocks; Los Muertos south of the pier is sand better than ever. Beaches to the North beyond Bucerias are fine all the way out to El Ancholote; Mismaloya got more sand.
