Help from others travelling on a budget

My hubby and I are planing are first ever trip to p.v ( well first trip any where ) We are staying at the Tropican from nov 29 to dec 6, we were wondering if 3000 (canadian) is going to be enough to cover exspences and still be able to have some cash for having fun!!!! :lol:

godaloveme...if you are saying that you have paid for the flight and the hotel already and still have $3000 cdn for one week of excursions, bars, restaurants, gifts, etc...you will be fine...sonofdob.

3K CA is more than enuf! just remember that your duty free limits are $750 CA each on return to Canada.

$3K cdn for 7 days?? I take that much for 3 weeks and never want for a thing, AND take money home.

Try to remember that your money converts to pesos in your favour. Anywhere from 9 to 9.5 pesos to the Cdn dollar right now. That goes a long way.

But as rosie wisely pointed out, your duty free limit is still $750 per person that you can bring back with you.

Just a note on the money thing. Exchange at home for pesos. We were there for 2 weeks last year and spent about $1200.00 cnd. If you have budgeted 3 K for 1 week I would putting half of it back into savings for your return trip to PV - yes you will make a return trip!!! Just like oneistwo said!!
And when you are on Los Muertos beach look for the guy cooking shrimps and other fish on a grill. Do yourself the hugest favour and buy some shrimp on sticks for 25 pesos (approx 2.50 cnd.) Now theres a memory that just keeps on coming back!!! Take along some wet naps or something similar, you will need them. (No a wet nap is not the same as a wet dream :roll: )
