Grand Marival

The Marina area did very well during Kenna, I was at Velas Vallarta and all was fine, except for some sand in the beach side pool.

Hi- I spoke with the hotel yesterday and this is the info they provided. The Grand side is up and running, no damage. The Club side took a bigger hit but basically one pool needed to be closed to clean out the sand. A small walkway wall collapsed and that should be fixed within a week. The hotel is suppose to be back in pristine condition by Nov. 15th. Some of the vegetation is destroyed but they are working around the clock to get the grounds back to their beautiful condition. One of the strong points of the Marival is how beautiful the grounds are kept. We are going in December and I know it will be perfect. You should have no problems in a few weeks. Aparently the Nuevo area sustained minor damage. The palapas are blown but the beach is in tact and ready for sun-filled activites.

I am arriving at the same hotel in early Dec. and would appreciate an update/opinion of this property.

Thanks for the message. I am less stressed now about accomodations etc. I am travelling with my 2 daughters (13&11) and want this vacation to be PERFECT! We arrive on the 7th and leave on the 14th. If you are still ther e on the 7th or 8th, perhaps we can meet for a coffee or drink?
