Gifts for Maids/New Mexican Friends?

We have friends that take T-shirts and hats, usually with \"Canadian\" logos on them, ie Maple leaf, NHL teams etc.

Also school supplies are appreciated. Pamela Thompson knows where to take the supplies in PV.

We were in PV in December at the Mayan Palace NV, the bartender told us that they all make the same daily wage of 40 Pesos approximately $4 US, they all rely on tips. We took with us small toys that (lego) we left in addition to our tip for the maids, we noticed that for example a Barbie Car at Walmart was 350pesos it would take someone along time even to afford such a gift for their child. Also took down the Gift with Purchase that you receive at cosmetic counters and with perfume, they were thrilled with these.

For the maids, forget gifts and just bring some extra money. They need it more than anything.
