Re:Exchanging money...
Why not at the airport?

As you clear customs and the time share sharks, there is a bank on your left which gives excellent (if not the best) exchange rates. That is where you will find me Thursday afternoon. Wahoo

If you need more while you are down, get pesos from one of the many ATMs. They give great rates, and have instructions in both Spanish and English. Just remember to withdraw 3000 not 300 or you will wind up with only about $30 USD.

Re:Exchanging money...
The best place to exchange money would be at the airport. Just after you get through the time share room there is an exchange booth and a bank. The bank has slightly better exchange rates, but both are decent.

Have fun, we\"ll be down the first week of June. Wish it was sooner.
Re:Exchanging money...
I maybe exchange $200 at the airport and then in a day or two hit a casa de cambio with a slightly better rate. Since there is one at the marina just around the corner from the GPC and CPC this is most convienient for us.
Re:Exchanging money...
I know a lot of locals that use the bank at the airport for the best rate of exchange, and I have not seen any better during my travel there. Chuck please let us know what cambios beats these rates.
Re:Exchanging money...
There is an exchange Cambio in Bucerias, which is much closer to your hotel. It is up along the main highway coming into Bucerais, which is an easy walk from your hotel. Just ask others there where it is and how to get there. It is in a strip mall along the highway, but you have to cross the highway to get there. Remember to check out the open market, etc in Bucerias. The town of Bucerias is wonderful as well.

We usually use the Silver Bank down by the Mega... we go there when we are on our walks.... and yes the one by the Pemex that Chuck was talking about is close at hand as well for the GCP.... I keep hearing that more and more the airport is the place to exchange when you first get into town... but we usually use plastic or USD ... but we will exchange at just about any of the little cambinos along the streets when we are down town... exchange $50 or $100 here of there, depending on what we are doing that night... it all works out that is for sure....
Re:Exchanging money...
Does anyone know if the bank at the airport is open on Saturday???

Yes it is open Saturday, but I believe it closes at 2pm. I think the cambio next to it stays open until 9pm.
