The US dollar is acepted every here sometime we do not like it but is the way that it is, in this case I recomend you that bring some travelers checks in USD, maybe is the better idea.

I brought traveller cheques with me, and is was very easy to change it.
so I think it is the best you can do? my friend had american dollars thats also easy to change. near our hotel there was a an exchanche so it was very easy. but traveller cheqeus are better I think.

Maybe use the ATM machines. They will give you a good rate of exchange.
