There are cambios all over PV and if you want to run all over town you might find one that will give you a couple of more pesos on your entire exchange depending on how much you exchange at one time.

I have found that the currency exchanges I deal with at home do not offer a rate as good as the cambios and atms in Vallarta. I take enough to get me thru a day or two and then use the atms in PV.
