Re:Drinking Water
Puerto Vallarta is very modern in most aspects. Most of the resorts have safe purified water as well as bottle water for those that are just a little skidish. But we have never had any problems in all the years we have been coming to Vallarta (twelve years now)... have a great time... More times out of ten, people that have problems it is not from the water, it is from excess... complete change in diet and drinking habits... but if you have been to Cabo and Cancun you should know that... and you should be fine in Vallarta...

have a great time...

Stacy,

Yep, you are right about taking Acidophilus. Although you can get the same sort of help from Yogurt.
I do agree with too that we all tend to over induldge, where our diet is concerned and try to blame it on the water.
I know you can get the same ill effects from water just traveling from state to state here in the U.S.A.. Believe it or not folks there is micro organisms in any drinking water along with the good bacteria and bad bacteria. Nothing wrong with taking precautions though.

Cheers,
Nick

we have been coming to mexico for twelve years now... and we have never had any problems with the water where we knew it to be safe... and i have to agree with both Jennybean and Nick... some of the problems do come from over indulgence... if you really think about it, how often to you dine on shrimp, lobster, or eat almost 24/7, having cocktails from the moment you get up until the moment you pass out that night... or even if you go out... do you go out every night when you are home... go to a different resturant, different cuisine every night, as well as cocktails, dancing, etc... well if you do, why are you on vacation... LOL but that is part of it, as well as exposure to the sun, ocean (bay) swimming, etc etc.... there are so many things that can cause ill effects to you... even the plane ride down could give you something... granted i am not an MD, but you live and learn once you start to travel extensively....

just remember to have FUN... ask questions, and you will be fine....
