Do you exchange money in Can or PV??

I am going to PV May 25th and was wondering if I would get a better exchange rate in PV rather than in Canada, right now it is 0.17 in Canada at the bank!!

What we usually do is exchange a little money, maybe $50 at our local bank into pesos before going to P.V. That way we have some local currency when we first get in for cab fare, quick eats, etc. Then we exchange the rest of our money in Mexico. You should watch the exchange rates carefully in P.V. They will vary from place to place. The banks even vary from one to another, but generally the banks provide the best rate of exchange.

Best rate of exchange is usually the bank at the airport, closed Sunday. The ATMs at the airport & town will also give you a good rate, far, far better than what you will get at home!
Make sure your PIN# is only four digits.

i just returned and found exchanging $$ in Pv is way better and yes just get 100 pesos or so to get you out of the airport..the bank machines are the best...have a good trip

I just got back from PV today and found the rate of exchange better at the airport in Vancouver than in PV. Also, the rate is better downtown than at the resorts and you have more places there to shop around. I found that at Vancouver airport I received $6.3CD/peso. At our resort in PV we received $5.1CD/peso and in town it was $5.4CD/peso.

I used my Presidents Choice atm card at the atms in old town and ended up getting 5.79 pesos per canuck buck Two weeks ago.
